DECIPHeR Community Engagement Panel

This virtual event is provided by the Disparities Elimination through Coordinated Interventions to Prevent and Control Heart and Lung Disease Risk (DECIPHeR) Alliance. It will include a facilitated panel discussion among various community partners about the importance of community engagement and outreach. Individuals will hear from a diverse group of stakeholders on why community engagement is critical in implementation research. Individuals will explore the bi-directional nature of partnerships and learn about stakeholders’ perspectives on the value and best practices for centering community voice and leadership in research. Barbara Williams, MPH, from the University of Illinois Cancer Center will discuss how valuable community engagement is to research. This event will help support prevention initiatives and research to reduce the burden of cancer inequities.
