Betsy Porter is an attorney who focuses on policy surveillance research. In this work, she has been the lead legal researcher for the National Cancer Institute’s Classification of Laws Associated with School Students since 2014. That work tracks state laws related to childhood nutrition and physical activity in the school setting with the aim of reducing cancer rates in adulthood.
