My team develops imaging instrumentation to diagnose or assist in diagnosis of tumor tissue. We have developed an optical imaging method and a software that can non-invasively diagnose cutaneous melanoma with more than 95% specificity and sensitivity. We are also developing an imaging-based method using photoacoustic imaging to diagnose breast cancer in dense breast. Another development is to help neurosurgeons to identify the tumor residuals after brain surgery.
