The overall goal of Dr. Karaman’s research is developing advanced diffusion-weighted MRI techniques for the characterization of complex tumor tissue; and integrating these techniques into computational models for cancer detection, tumor grading, and treatment monitoring. She is particularly interested in investigating their feasibility in probing the tumor tissue microstructures and microenvironment in different cancer types and organs, including adult and pediatric brain tumors, gastric cancer.
