The Minshall lab is focused on understanding how structural and scaffolding functions of caveolin-1 regulate formation and trafficking dynamics of caveolae, cell communication, adhesion, transmigration, proliferation and differentiation during inflammatory injury and repair / remodeling. We are interrogating pathophysiological mechanisms that lead to increased permeability, thrombosis, and remodeling of the microvasculature relevant to cancer cell survival, growth, and metastasis. We are also developing treatments strategies that target these pathological mechanisms in endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and cancer cells.
